2018 PROGRAMMES UPDATE LETTER
Dear Friends and Trusted Partners,
Thank you for your continued support and co-operation in the last year.
Visitoz has enjoyed a very busy year with a steady stream of interesting, capable and motivated participants from all around the world. We are in good shape.
Our general update follows and includes information about changes to our programmes for 2018.
Thank you for your continued support and co-operation in the last year.
Visitoz has enjoyed a very busy year with a steady stream of interesting, capable and motivated participants from all around the world. We are in good shape.
Our general update follows and includes information about changes to our programmes for 2018.
1. Improvements...
In the last year we have worked very hard on improvements and refinements to our programmes.
This has included significantly increasing the staff team, recruiting new trainers, refining and updating the training programme, upgrading our training equipment and infrastructure and improving our information, communication and participant briefings. We have also worked on streamlining the administration and bookings processes. We are pleased to report that our employer database is growing and that our programmes are more effective and popular than ever.

4. Working holidays as attractive as ever...
There have been many changes to the Australian working holiday and some talk of downturn in parts of the market. Our view is that the outback and rural Australian working holiday is as good as it has ever been for young people who are willing and capable of doing a good job.
The changes to our tax system in the last year mean that a working holidaymaker can now put a further 17.5% of their wages into their pocket. For capable, competent and willing workers there is plenty of work available with Visitoz. Our network of employers is growing fast because of the quality of the young people we can send them.
5. Adventure, personal development, life skills and career enhancing experiences...
The adventures and challenges that lead to personal growth and positive experiences continue to be available here in Australia like nowhere else in the world. We find increasing awareness of the personal and career development gains and we feel sure that can be a big part of your marketing story. Personal qualities of willingness and ability to learn, application, determination, resilience, teamwork in challenging circumstances and the courage to get out there are highly valued transferable skills in all walks of life.
6. Participant profile and target markets...
The profile of a successful participant has evolved. Employers seek a positive attitude, confidence, fitness and previous relevant skills or experience. Trade and other practical skills are increasingly valued.
The ideal profile is typically 21 years or older with good evidence of motivation and work ethic on their CV, ideally with some relevant skills and workplace experiences. It is essential that they can drive a manual vehicle, have good spoken English and high levels of emotional and social confidence.
We will continue to focus on young people from agricultural, equestrian and trade skills backgrounds however please note that we will continue to welcome high-calibre participants whether younger or from a more general background providing that they meet these general criteria.
We appreciate that finding young people who meet this specification is a slight departure from traditional gap year target audiences, however this is the area in which we are experiencing growth and great success. We encourage you to continue to develop your marketing channels into these communities.
7. Help your clients get focused and prepared...
We strongly recommend that participants use the time between booking and arrival here in Australia to improve relevant skills. This can include motorbike and quad bike riding, driving tractors or other machinery, additional livestock or equestrian work and doing a whole range of hands-on practical tasks with tools, wood, metal, mechanics and small machinery. Becoming confident with organisation and self management, cooking (simple meals for up to 10 people) and building up work ready fitness and stamina will all help to make a more effective transition to Australian working life.
We look forward to expanding our business with you in the year ahead.
With our very best wishes,
From all the Visitoz Team

SUMMARY OF 2018 PROGRAMME CHANGES
We now have 4 main types of programme
1. 365 day Working holiday programmes
2. Farming career development / Skilled farmer programmes
3. 88 day Working holiday programmes
4. Farm experience programmes
1. Working holiday programmes redefined
We have now redefined our programmes so that we can broaden our appeal, be more focused and specific in marketing and about the type of work we will offer participants.
We now have 4 principal streams for our 365 day working holiday programmes.
The 365 day programme also includes the Volunteer programme (a sub-programme providing for 1-6 months of rural and outback working life experience or those who are not eligible for a working holiday visa )
2. Farming career development / Skilled farmer programmes - reduced costs and repayment options
We have developed programmes offering excellent value for skilled or early career farm workers with or without working holiday visas.
Generous fee repayment terms are now available for the 408 special programme (Sponsored Agricultural Career Development Programme) in order to increase the accessibility of the programme.
3. Farm work experience extension programmes
(for inexperienced workers seeking further experience to build up to work readiness before taking a paid job, or for those who seek a volunteer work experience but do not have the time to commit to a fully paid job)
We have added:
4. 88 day 2nd visa programmes (for workers seeking to qualify for a 2nd year of working holiday Visa)
This programme is now available for sale overseas (prior to arrival in Australia) and in country.
5. Farm experience programmes
We have added the option of farm training and unpaid farm work experience programs to our line-up. Designed for students and short-term visitors who may not have the time or eligibility for a full work programme but who seek immersion in an authentic farm environment.
6. English language courses
In 2017 we have started to offer places in a very well respected language school (with branches in Noosa or Brisbane) so that participants can practice and develop their English in a school and home stay environment before attending our training course.
This will help participants to reach IELTS 5.0 giving them the confidence and ability to communicate and engage fully with the training course and their employer. These range in duration from 1 to 8 weeks and are charged accordingly with a separate commission structure. These courses have been very well reviewed since we started them in July 2017.
